Eddie
Green designed and provided hosting for this website. Because I was new
to doing this Eddie was very patient and helped me organise what I needed. Once
we had decided the overall design the website took shape very quickly. I can recommend
him to anyone in a similar position.
Artsdepot Open 2010
This
is a summer celebration of creativity. It is an opportunity for artists to show
their work at artsdepot and for their audiences to experience and buy artwork from
the diverse range on show. This years Open included David`s installation piece Universe,
made with 2,500 toy cars.
Furo-an Gallery and Café - Gifu, Japan
The
small and exquisitely run gallery and café is located in Mizunami City, near Nagoya,
Japan. Regular exhibitions of are held to show the work and craft of local and national
talent in the atmosphere of the popular café or the dedicated gallery space next
door. In the summer of 2010 David was offered a unique opportunity to exhibit a
selection of his Photo-collage works.
The David E Rumelhart Prize
The
David E Rumelhart Prize was founded in 2000 and is financed by the Glushko-Samuleson
Foundation. It is awarded annually to an individual or collaborative team making
a significant contribution to the theoretical foundations of human cognition. The
prize consists of a certificate, a citation of the awardee`s contribution, a monetary
award of $100,000 and implemented in 2010 a Bronze
Medallion designed and produced by David T Waller and
Rachel Wu. The first
ten medallions were presented to past and present winners during a special symposium
at the annual CogSci conference in Portland, Oregon on 14August2010. The sculptor
was there to see the award as a guest of the Foundation.
COPrART
The
Coalition of Practicing Artists was founded by Judith Morell. Our aim was to hold
collaborative exhibitions in and around London where the participating artists and
craft persons could show together. Although currently no future exhibitions are
planned the website still hosts a diverse and colourful selection of artworks.
East Finchley Open
The
East Finchley Open Arts Group (EFO) is comprised of artists and craft people who
live or work in and around the East Finchley community. Launched in 2004, the EFO
has an ongoing active membership of more than 50 people, making it the largest and
most successful group of its kind in North London. Members produce a wide range
of high quality, original artwork including painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography,
weaving, jewellery and textiles. The main annual event is the Summer Open House
where members exhibit together over two weekends in July.
Julia Burstein – Photography
Julia
Burstein is a freelance photographer currently living in the UK, specialising in
documentary and portraiture, as well as performing arts photography; dance &
theatre.
Trans>Form 2010
This
satellite photo group formed from the bulk of East Finchley Open Arts Group members
early in 2009. We chose a theme `Trans>Form` and the artists produced a series
of exciting new works which were exhibited in March 2010. The show coincided with
publication of the Blurb Book also titled `Transform`.
The Crucible Foundry London
This
ancient method has survived yet improved by modern materials and techniques. The
process, often mesmerizing and beautiful achieves stunning results, and this friendly
foundry produce excellent finished bronzes for artists and designers alike.
LS Sculpture Casting
Situated
on a former airfield near Aylesbury this small, and dedicated company offer an attractive
alternative to casting in metal. For more than 25 years they have been producing
high quality resin casts with a variety of finishes including bronze. They provide
an excellent service for the customer, be it for the enthusiastic amateur or professional
sculptor.
Go-Figurative
The
desire to promote and sell figurative art prompted Sally Perry and Janine Collins
to found a unique business. Their comprehensive website / gallery is supported by
regular exhibitions under the banner `Real`. Held in unique London venues, participating
artists` work is shown in professional circumstances, and thus forms a desirable
collaboration with artists, designers, caterers and the public.
